About me & my shop!

My Artistic Journey:
I have always been an artist since I was young. I have always loved to paint, draw, and experiment with new mediums such as collage. I am fortunate to have been trained as an artist at a college in New York, along with benefiting from community-led classes in North Carolina and Seattle. I am fascinated with color and patterns, and I have always been particularly inspired by animals and nature.

From Candles to Prints:
Commitment to Sustainability

My journey with Etsy started as a handmade artisan, crafting vegan soy candles. However, I was deeply saddened by the materials needed to produce these candles, which I felt would last on the earth longer than myself. I was concerned about how the materials I needed for my candles were produced. I wanted to find a way to bring my creativity to the world while supporting a healthy planet and people.

So, Live Oak Print was born! I use all sustainably harvested, FSC-certified paper for my art prints. This certification ensures that my prints support people and the planet, assuring that trees are harvested responsibly, and forestry workers are paid a fair wage. Through Etsy, my shipping and packaging are recycled. I produce my work near you in partnering print shops to minimize carbon emissions and support your local community. I am deeply proud of how my business aligns with my commitment to the environment and my values.

As an artist, I use a variety of tools to create my work. In my studio, I blend time-honored artistic techniques with modern advancements. Some of my pieces are painted traditionally and then digitized, while others created with digital tools including Canva, Procreate and my iPad, GIMP, and AI technology. Incorporating digital tools and AI into my practice has opened up exciting avenues for experimentation and discovery. Each piece is a result of countless artistic decisions and years of accumulated skills. My involvement ensures that every artwork maintains a unique, human touch that is infused with my distinct style.

Through this synthesis of classical and contemporary methods, I strive to create pieces that resonate on multiple levels. Each artwork is a testament to the balance between the old and the new, showcasing a seamless integration of diverse techniques. My commitment to evolving as an artist drives me to continually push the boundaries of creativity, inviting viewers to engage with art in new and meaningful ways. About me & my shop!
